Older News of 2007

21-12-2008
Yesterday we had news that Howard's puppies with Elaine (Redskin of Sequoia) were all CEA clear with which ofcourse we are very pleased.
Flirt is also feeling at home and is allowed to run freely with our other dogs during our walks and she just loves to run and play with them. She's always trying to be the first one that is with the ball I throw and is quite fanatic in doing so ;-)
Once we head homewards again she starts to stay behind trying to get us to walk and play some more and it costs quite some talking to get her to come with us but so far we have managed to get her home every time ;-)
We are sure she will understand eventually ...... LOL

Another small update....
Last weekend I went to Germany to have a look at a litter sired by Trae and once again I have to say the puppies were really lovely and very much like what we are used to see in Trae's puppies.
Below are a few pictures of the lot, the blue merle male is still available to people that are interested in showing him. The whole litter is clear of CEA and the male entire.
If you are interested in the cheeky little blue guy please contact his breeders family Wilke in Wuppertal in Germany (Sternensee).

Male Female Female Female

Last week we went to see a littler by Howard here in Holland and they were cute also, The little tricolour looks a lot like his daddy but its a few sizes smaller ;-)
Here are some pictures of these 4 as well, all of them have found their forever home :-)

The last show for this year and a very successful ending of a fantastic year.
Howard got CAC/CACIB and Best of Breed under judge Tamas Jakkel from Hungary. Howie's half-sister Boots got the CAC/CACIB from the bitches :-)
This year our dogs fulfilled the requirements for the following titles:

We hope to have an equally successful year in 2009 and are looking forward to the first shows with Flirt and Tinsel's daughter Spooky.
Hopefully we will also have a little more luck with the litters we are expecting.........

We wish everybody a happy, sportive but above all a healthy 2009 !!

Great news this time!
Yesterday after months of hoping and waiting we picked up Flirt from the airport.

Flirt is officially known as Canadian Champion Newdawn What's Up and owned by Guy Jeavons en Mark Houston McMillan , we are over the moon to have her here and can not wait to get her out at the shows.

It will be exciting to see how she does overhere, she's a perfect size and seems to be quite a character so it will be fun  :-)

Only one day after her arrival she acts like she is at home, playing with our other dogs, laying on the couch and making runs to the kitchen with the others when they think there's something to eat.

Thank you everyone for the kind words on Flirt's arrival!

We also received some pictures of a litter by Howard bred by Redskin of Sequioa, there are still males available. Please contact their breeder if you are interested in one of these boys.

Lots of things happened here last month or did actually NOT happen ;-)
First of all ofcourse we expected a litter from Tempo but unfortunately that was not to be, she did not have puppies and we will try again at her next season which hopefully will be in March 2009.

Only last week more bad news as also our -last- litter from Lisa went terribly wrong, she was 63 days and nothing happened really so we took her to the vet to check with an ultrasound of all was OK with the puppies at that time. Two strong heart tones were seen and nothing appeared to be wrong but I had a bad feeling about it and asked the vet to do a C-section.
The c-section was scheduled for the next day but during the procedure it was obvious both of the puppies had died during the night :-(
Gone is our last chance to continue the line of our first English import Sheltex Fizzy Lizzy....

Some good news as well, two litters by Trae were born last week. They are 2-2 sable at Timeless Joy  and 0-4 tricolour at Pearls of Cial.
Next to that we also received some lovely pictures of some lovely puppies from Germany at Sternensee, these cuties are sired by Trae.

Last weekend we showed our dogs at the Amsterdam Winnershow and got a string of 2nd's ;-)
As for Boots all our dogs got 2nd in their class :-(
The day was saved by Howard's daughter Green Paradise You Light Up My Life who won the Junior bitch class and also was Reserve Best Bitch, well done Marion!!!
Here's Darleen's picture taken at the show:

We hope to have some very exciting news later this week!

24-11-2008

We have updates our showresults.
New picture of Trae on the openings page and on his own page. We also received confirmation of his championtitle last week.
We have been away to Slovenia as my little niece was being Christened, few of the dogs went with us and had a marvelous few days at the farm, the two boys Howard and Trae went to Addie and Thea de Jong who showed them at our clubshow. Results can be found at the page with showresults.

For a while we didn't feel like updating our homepage and thinking about a new design.
It is still not finished but we think our homepage looks much better now and we hope to have everything back on the net as soon as possible.

Our news of the past week?  First ofcourse the great news that Trae won his 4th and final CAC to gain his Dutch Champion title, we're so proud on our little man. He took his title under Mrs.Crawford-manton from Ireland who only rewarded 7 out of the 34 entered Shelties with Excellent including Trae's daughter Tia who was Reserve Best Bitch and won her first Res.CAC.

Than of course we had our little Tinsel baby eye checked and she was clear of CEA as expected as her father Mohnesee Mr Palmer is genetically clear of CH but you just never know what else might be there.....  We were lucky once again and since mid 2002 all the puppies born here were CEA clear.
We also took two of our adults with us for their eye check, Tempo because she is over 6 years of age  and every dog of over 6 years needs to be checked for PRA according to our club rules and we also took Howard because someone who is thinking about using him needed an ECVO form which is puppy test wasn't :-(
Both Howard and Tempo were clear again, Tempo now also definately clear of PRA.
Tinsel's little baby who is now named Spooky has gone to live with Sandra and Vincent van Zal and their Dutch Treat Shelties but we still own her.

On Monday the 15th Tempo was mated in Sweden by Shellrick's Up To Date, more info can be found on our Expected page.

01-09-2008
Yesterday we went to the INternational show in Rotterdam (NL) where we had a super day :-)  Together with Thea we had entered 4 dogs and got 4 times 1st Excellent !!
First it was Trae's turn who looks smashing at the moment and is much more mature than a few months ago.  Trae got 1st in open dogs and later got Reserve Best Dog but because the winner already was a Dutch Champion, Traewill have the CAC, it is his 3rd so 1 more to go :-))
Than it was the ladies turn, Thea's bitch Nina won the open class, Boots did the same in Intermediate and to our big surprise..... Tia won the Junior class !!
At the end of the day, Nina won Best Bitch and also Best of Breed. Congratulations Addie and Thea !!
Results of our dogs can be found on our showresults page

30-08-2008
New pictures of our little tomboy who is now named Kirsty.... These pictures were made last Thursday when we went to visit Addie and Thea and she had a lovely time in their garden running around with their youngsters. Thea luckily had patience enough to wait for hours with the camera nearby :-)
We also took the oppertunity to make a picture of Trae's daughter 'Ruby', she is the puppy Addie and Thea kept from their sable litter by Trae and Kiss Me Gently Again from Lady Lucia and we think she is really gorgeous.

We also got pictures from Germany from Trae's lovely daughter Hope, also known as Green Paradise Another Day In Heaven (out of Yvette O'The Highlands). Thank you Andrea!!

Because we are so proud on what Trae is producing so far, we have made a page with a few of his children and hope to add more soon. Click here of you want to see the.

24-08-2008
Good news about Trae the past week, he has been tested for the MDR-1 defect and his result is +/+ (clear and no carrier).
New pictures of our gorgeous puppy baby...

18-08-2008
Yesterday we had the show in Vejen (Denmark) where unde rjudge Gunnar Jensen from Norway there were 46 Shelties entered and w ehad a lovely day :-)
Willem (Dawnville Frontpage News) the last son of Farouche to Hillacre Hot To Trot was also entered and I really enjoyed showing him for his owners. Willem won the Juniorclass of 6 and we are soproud on him as this was his first show ever and he behaved so perfectly.
Further results can be found on our showresults page.

16-08-2008
New pictures of Tinsel's baby.......

09-08-2008
New pictures of our house tyrant ..... 4 weeks in the meantime and as wise as an adult dog :-(
Also a new picture on our index page, this time it's Perry's turn to be on the cover ;-)  Perry is Howard's (see below) halfbrother and is the much spoiled clown of our family who has been taken the backseat as for shows concerned to make way for his younger halfbrother and our crazy Australian madman Trae.

01-08-2008
New pictures of our little baby, she's really cute and very cheeky already as well. If it was up to her she would walk with our other dogs most of the day and play with Tia all the time and she's only barely 3 weeks of age :-)

Last weekend we have been to the show in Bergheim (Germany) where Malcolm Hart was judging Shelites. The results  were better than we have ever dared to hope for.. The weather waa killing with a burning sun shining since noon but we survived and the results made a lot of it soon forgotten ;-))
Results can be found on our showresults page and hereunder are some pictures of the day made by Birgit Nagtegaal (www.sheltiepix.de).

New pictures from our puppy: Dawnville Gotta Love My Looks

24-07-2008
Good news from Germany: Last weekend the little tricolour girl D'Kaethy Takes My Heart vom Ohmtalteufel was at the Clubshow of the British Sheepdog Club in Großaitingen (Germany) and won Best of Breed under judge Hans Ulrich Häberli from Switzerland.
Not content with 'only' the Best of Breed Kaethy decided to do one better and both judges (the above mentioned and Mrs.Hedwig Mense from Germany) decided she deserved more and gave her Best in Show!!

Kaethy

Because Kaethy is a daughter of Ch.Dawnville Where There's Smoke (living in Germany with our friends Beate and Udo Alexeander) and our own tricolour boy Ch.Dawnville You've Gotta Be Kidding, we are ofcourse very proud on her achievement.
We would like to mention that Hans Ulrich Häberli was also the judge that made Tinsel Best in Show at her first show ever!!

Our fat baby is still doing well, her feet has healed and look OK now and she also has her official name:

Dawnville Gotta Love My Looks

19-07-2008
Due to the fact that our homepage has been (partly) off line we haven't made a lot of updates. We can now be found on our own domain www.dawnville.nl and hopefully this will continue to work better as with our previous webspace :-)

At the beginning of July we have been to the worldshow in Stockholm and the special Sheltie show in Eskilstuna and saw some lovely Shelties there, when I have a little more time I will put up the pictures on our homepage.

Less than a week after our return from Sweden Tinsel had her puppy. Unfortunately  there was only 1 puppy but if this girl grows up nicely we might do the same combination again next year :-)
The first pictures can be found on our puppy page....

There's not much to report at the moment otherwise than the fact that Trae's 9 puppies out of 2 litters that were born at Marmorea's Shelter were all CEA clear, this gives him still a 100% clear score on his babies on which ofcourse we are very proud.  Trae will be coming home form his holidays end of next week as we do have a baby of our own now for him to take care of ;-)

22-06-2008
Finally an update about the past few weeks.
Last eek we were supposed to go to a show in Hulten (NL) but due to illness of the original judge and the fact that we were not so pleased with his replacement we decided to withdraw our dogs. Unfortunately as there are not so many outdoor shows overhere and we would have loved to go but we do not feel much for "mission impossible" :-(
Instead of the show we went to district day of the Dutch Sheltie Club and had a great time

Trae is back home again, it took some talking to convince him to come home with us again but he finally decided it would be nice to see how things are with the others at home. We believe Thea had a harder time to see him go again as she so much fell in love with the little funny guy.............
Because Trae is not allowed to sleep on our beds he decided to book another short stay at Thea's hotel again, he will be staying with them again after next weeks show (Trae's not entered) so we can safely leave to see Shelties at the worldshow in Stockholm a few days later ;-)
Trae will have a marvellous time on his holiday address with all his puppies to play with, just to show you how spoiled he gets when overthere:

Time to get up but not for Trae ;-)

Yesterday we went to the show in Brussels, not a really succesfull show but we're still satisfied and did some good shopping. The results are on our showpage.

Today we spent with looking at a litter by Trae. Coming week the first of them will leave the nest so it was time to pay them a visit.
Once again a lovely litter with outgoing happy boisterous babies, 1 baby boy is still available and in our opinion he's the most promising of the boys.
When interested please contact his breeder Jacqueline Klaarenbeek
Here's a picture of the little happy fellow:

After seeing these babies we drove to Albergen where Mayke IJland lives. She has a litter of sable babies we wanted to see and ofcourse we were curious to see the daughter of Howad and Dawnville Walks On Water (Mabel).  Quick and Stylish O'The Little Lodge alias Steffie. Steffie is already 8 months of age and a typical Howard daughter. Not an impressive ball of fur on 4 legs but like her name suggests: Stylish. She needs time to mature but just like with her daddy we are sure it will come with time.
When Steffie is getting a little more coat we will go back for pistures.

Lots to report again :-)
Although we have no shows last weekend and this weekend we still have some showresults to report.
Last Saturday we received a text message from Denmark to let us know that Howard's son Blue Krispin Only For You v.Ohmtalteufel (D: Kamp.Dawnville Where There's Smoke) in Varde (DK) had won his 1st Danish CC under judge Anne Indergaard from Norway. The exact same judge that gave his father Howard Best of Breed when she judged in Holland a while ago..... Seems like Krispin looks like his daddy ;-)

Blue Krispin Only For You vom Ohmtalteufel Dawnville You've Gotta Be Kidding

Last Sunday we went to see puppies by Trae. First it went to Ingen to see the 9 babies of Addie en Thea and to pick up Thea to join us for Geilenkirchen (D) where I wanted to have a look at Trae's puppies at the Green Paradise kennel. They were almost ready to go to their new homes and we wanted to see them before they would leave.
We were glad we did not have to pick one of them as they were all so nice

The 4 bitches out of the Green Paradise litter The 'eye-catching' Marmorea's Shelter assembly ;-)

Later that Sunday another tex message arrived to let us know that Howard's son Krishna Heartbreaker v.Ohmtalteufel (Krispin's brother) won a nice Excellent 4 in the open class  at the International show in Neumünster (D).  Our friends Beate Alexander, Nette Geertz and Erika Heintz had a terrific day with 3x 1st Exc. and CAC's, 1 CACIB and 2 Reserve CACIB's. CONGRATULATIONS!! Next time we will be there again as well and you still owe us the champagne  ;-)

More news that same Sunday: Kaethy (D'Keathy Takes My Heart v.Ohmtalteufel - littersister of both Krispin and Krishna) has passed her Obedience Beginner exam with 251 points and the qualification Very Good. Kaethy is next to an obedience dog a show dog as well and has 1 CAC. Congratulations to Keathy's -nervous- owner Monika Rau (Pride of Roughs)

Krishna Heartbreaker vom Ohmtalteufel

D'Keathy Takes My Heart vom Ohmtalteufel

We are enormously proud on what Howard's children are doing in the showring and at any other kind of activity they are involved in. Bad rumors say he is not producing anything worthwhile but fact is that he doesn't have that enormous amount of offspring some other dogs have and his children are -just like their dad-  slow to mature. Furthermore most of them ended up in homes where they are loved for what they are and their owners have no interest in showing them and we think that is what they deserve first and foremost.

Last week we also received news that Howard's two puppies with the Wilke family and their Sternensee Shelties also were CEA clear.

Pups at Sternensee (M:Kittenishley Kamelilja v.Sternensee)

Trae has booked another week of fun and mischief with our friends Addie and Thea de Jong where he just loves to play with his children and makes sure they are treated well ;-)
We just can't get him to come home with us when we are there as he keeps checking up on his babies. We're sure as soon as he has enough of the little buggers he loves to return home with us, until than we hope Addie and Thea can keep up with his naughty tricks  ;-))

28-05-2008
Lot of things happened the past few weeks ...... First of all Howards puppies in belgium at the Golden Fir kennel were born on May 11th, at the same day his daughter Isa gave brth to his grandchildren the Marmorea's Shelter kennel of Addie and Thea's (see puppies expected by others). These last puppies are sired by Trae and the whole bunch is a mix of all colours including a Colour Headed White merle female ;-)

They are a blue merle male, a tricolour male, 2 tricolour bitches and 2 blue merle bitches (of which 1 CHW), very curious to see how they look once they are older.

Last weekend we went to the National show in Arnhem (Joe Katshow) with a few of our dogs under which was Howard.
Howard is a Dutch Champion for awhile already but because we like to take him with us now and than under judges we have never had before he was entered also.
It was a very succesfull day for Howard and a real eye-opener for us considering people we use to call friends ............ Howard won Best of Breed in good competition, in fact, Shelties had the highest entry number of all breeds at this show.
It was obvious not everybody was happy that Howard was there this day and sportsmanship is not in their vocabulary ........
It did not spoil our fun and we enjoyed a lovely day outside.
Tia made her showdebut in Junior class and got 3rd in a class of 16, Boots got 4th. Winner of this enormous class was Howard's daughter Xtreme from Marmorea's Shelter. CONGRATULATIION to her owners!!!
Another Howard daughter won one of the few Excellent gradings that were given during the day.Een andere dochter van Howard (Zero Shame from Marmorea's Shelter) kreeg
Howard didn't do anything in the main ring but we expected that once we saw who was judging there.....

Last but not least: Trae's puppies in Germany at Green Paradise are alle CEA clear again.

A new picture of Tia on our openingspage and ofcourse on her own page. We think she finally starts to look like something so now all that's left is learning to stand still so that we will be able to show her. We will practice at the upcoming Joe Kat show (FCI Group 1 show) where Tia is entered, this will be her 1st show.

yesterday we had the show in Arnhem (NL) where I have showed Trae and ofcourse Thea went along with Boots and her homebred tricolour Nina (Nick Nack from Marmorea's Shelter).
Trae lost his coat completely but nevertheless got on of the very few 'Excellents' that were given, our little 'baby' got a very nice 3rd place in open class competing against the adult boys so we are more than pleased with how he did.
Boots again got her 1st Excellent in the junior class which had a good entry.
Thea got the Reserve CAC/Reserve CACIB. with Nina. All together we had a lovely day again.

Our next show will be the Joe Kat show in 2 weeks tome but first it's off to England to pick up Tinsel.........hopefully ;-)

Today another litter sired by Trae was born as well, it are 2 girls and 1 boy, all sable. Mother to these babies is Kiss Me Gently Again from Lady Lucia who is owned by Addie and Thea de Jong. Here are the first pictures of these little babies. More of them can soon be found on the homepage of Marmorea's Shelter.

Lots of things happened here the past week but the saddest thing was that Lisa lost her babies almost a week before they were due. The puppies looked like if they have been dead for awhile already before they were born so we were lucky they came without help of the vet and Lisa seems to be OK.
We will try again in a couple of months and hopefully have more luck.

Last weekend we had the show in Grefrath and our dogs did more than well under judge Susanne Naprawnik from Austria.  I went there with my friend who owns Boots and altogether we showed 4 dogs, all 4 of them got 1st Excellent and the day was made unforgettable by Howard who won Best in Show!
We showed some dogs for friends also which took another 1st Excellent in open dogs, 2nd Excellent in intermediate bitches and very Promising 3 in puppyclass bitches.
Below are some pictures of this day made by Birgit Nagtegal.

We had a great weekend in Slovenia last weekend. On Friday I started riving down there with 4 of our dogs of which 3 were entered at the double show in Celje.
The doggies had a wonderful time at the farm of family on Friday evening, saturday evening and Sunday afternoon/evening. It was because I wanted to dogs to be able to relax that I decided to drive home on the Monday instead of straight after the show on Sunday.
The results of a busy weekend is something we are very proud of: Howard won 2x CAC, 2x CACIB and 2x Best of Breed, he needed one more Slovenian CAC so he won his title in style  ;-)
Trae got 2nd with Excellent in his class (with 2x res.CAC) on both days, he's so very much a still a baby and also lost his coat so we are more than pleased with how he did.
Last but not least I showd Gale, she needed another CACIB, I recently found out that it was only one sheneeded so tha's why I decided to take her with me. She won 2x CAC, 1x Res.CACIB en 1x CACIB so that she now fullfilled all requirements for her International Championtitle. Gale seems to be a laster like her sire who gained his Dutch title at age eleven......

We're off to Grefrath (D) next week ;-)

06-04-2008

Yesterday at the international show in Goes (NL) Boots won her 3rd and final ticket to gain her Dutch Junior Champion title.
She has been shown at 6 shows where she got 2nd in her class 3x under Dutch judges and at the other 3 shows where we showed her under foreign judges (Ireland, England and Belgium) she won her Junior CC's. She has also won 3 Dutch CC's for her adult title and is only 13 months of age.
Congrats also to her owners Addie en Thea!!

Boots at 6 months of age

We received some pictures today of Trae's children born in the kennel of Theo and Marion Ziesen (Green Paradise). Another litter by Trae was born there this week of which 1 tricolour male and 2 tricolour bitches are still available.

New picture on our openings page, Thanks again Monika and Mario for the lovely pictures of Keathy!
Few changes made to our male page and litters expected by our males.

11-03-2008
A few more changes made to several pages including an update at our showresults page.
We have been to Crufts with both Howard and Tinsel, neither of them got placed but Tinsel has made lots of new fans and we think we finally know to whom we are going to mate her in the autumn :-)

Tinsel became a Dutch champion at only our 2nd attempt after she has reached the required age of 27 months. She also was Best of Breed.

There's news on our expected page .....

17-02-2008

Long time since we updated ur homepage but after the untimely dead of Bisou we just didn't feel like it.
What happened the past month?

Ofcourse there was the most tragic accident with Bisou, Howard's little sister of which we had hoped to have a daughter one day......
Bisou was hit by a car and her injuries were so severe that the decision to put her to sleep had to be made.

Our hopes to have a daughter from Bisou were gone and we have changed our puppy plans for this year because of that as we definitely want to keep the tail female line to our first English import Sheltex Fizzy Lizzy going....

At the end of that horrible week there also was good news.
At the show in Eindhoven we had entered a few of our dogs under which Bisou's big brother Howard and her halfsister Boots.
It was a very special but memorable day when both Howard and Boots got the CC's, eventually Boots also was Best of Breed and after a long afternoon of waiting also took group 2nd at only 11 months of age.

Congrats to her owners Addie and Thea and thank you for giving her such a lovely home.

Last but not least we can tell you that we are looking for a blue merle dog to use for Lisa as like we have stated below ou plans has changed a little bit and instead of waiting till the autumn to have Lisa mated we have decided to mate her this spring.

16-01-2008
Last weekend we did the triple shows in Slovenia again like last year. This time we only took Tinsel and her results surpassed our wildest dreams.  She won 3 CAC's, 1 Res.CACIB, 1 CACIB and a Clubwinnertitle. She also now is a Slovenian Champion and we have to check if we are right but if we are not mistaking she now also qualifies for her International Championtitle. If we are right she is by far our youngest Int.Ch. ever, she is just a little over 27 months of age, the minimum age required. Tinsel is champion number 4 out of this combination :-)
Tinsel's results can be seen at our showresult page.

09-01-2008
We have been to the eye check with the fatman and glad to announce he is CEA clear, no other remarks as well so it couldn't be better except ........... he is going to move to Germany in a little while :-(  Despite his attitude we will surely miss him !!
Today also Howard's puppies with Amazing Akira In Blue v.Nindorf were born, there are 2 tricolour males and 2 blue merle females and information about these babies can be obtained by
Hanny Parmentier (v.Nindorf).

07-01-2008
New pictures of our little man. These pictures are not really what we had hoped for but the little bugger doesn't like the flashlight on the camera (which we need because of the dark days) and just keeps his eyes shut :-(
On the 50 pictures we made he has his eyes closed on over 40 of them and at the others he only has his eyes half open. We will try again later. He's a lovely baby to look at and it's such a shame this doesn't really show on these pictures :-(

06-01-2008
Today tempo's son Dawnville Dragon Inside visited us and he is just drop dead gorgeous! We have made some pictures of him which we can be found here later. We also made some pictures of Dawnville Elluva Fella (Trae x Dawnville March Brings Gales) who is staying with us for this week, once we have resized these pictures they can be found here.

02-01-2008
Than there was more good news because Trae's puppies with Dawnville You Betta Have A Look that were born with our friends Sandra and Vincent van Zal and their Dutch Treat Shelties went to the eye-specialist and all 4 of them were CEA clear.

01-01-2008
The year started with the birth of a litter sired by Trae (Scotsdream Still O'ThNite), in Germany at the Green Paradise kennel 5 babies were born by Trae out of Green Paradise Kiara In Blue. There are 1 tri boy, 1 blue merle boy, 1 tri girl and 2 blue merle girls. Pictures can be found at the site of the breeder: Green Paradise.
